Cultural Activities
The Burrows Trail Arts Council is a registered charity serving the McCreary, Alonsa, Glenella,
Riding Mountain and Kelwood area. The office is situated at 436 2nd Ave. in McCreary. Services
began in 1986. A volunteer board and one staff person operate the council. The volunteer board
members come from each of the areas served. New board members and volunteers are always
welcome.
Each year professional performances, visual art exhibitions, workshops, and classes are offered.
The council usually holds 3 adult performances each year. Financial support is offered to bring
performances into schools. The visual art is exhibited in the McCreary & District Library. Exhibits
are updated monthly, if possible. Classes include guitar lessons (that began in October) and
papertole beginning in February. Workshops are offered by demand. Staff person Anne Dulle is
available to assist both professional and emerging artists in the area.
Burrows Trail Arts Council is a member of the Manitoba Arts Network, a provincial arts network
with offices in Winnipeg, Manitoba and members throughout Manitoba.
Funding is received from Manitoba Department of Culture, Heritage & Tourism, Canadian
Heritage, the
Village of McCreary, as well as the R.M. of McCreary, Alonsa, Glenella, and
Rosedale.
